Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help people process and recover from distressing life experiences and trauma. Sometimes difficult memories can become “stuck” in the brain, continuing to trigger strong emotional or physical reactions long after the event has passed. EMDR helps the brain reprocess these memories so they lose their intensity and no longer feel overwhelming.
During EMDR therapy, the client briefly focuses on a troubling memory while the therapist guides them through bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements, tapping, or sounds. This process supports the brain’s natural ability to heal, allowing the memory to be integrated in a healthier way.
EMDR is widely used to treat trauma and Post‑Traumatic Stress Disorder, but it can also help with anxiety, phobias, grief, and other distressing experiences. Many people find that EMDR allows them to move forward with greater emotional resilience and a renewed sense of control in their lives.

EMDR
Trauma informed yoga is an evidence based hatha yoga practice to support individuals who have experienced trauma in their lives.
Session can be one on one or small groups, face to face or online via zoom.
The practice differs from a general yoga practice with the facilitator practising along you, there are no physical adjustments and the practice is developed to support individuals to (re)connect with their bodies and create a safe space.
Shown through empirical research to reduce the symptoms of complex trauma and PTSD, this body-led therapy guides individuals on their pathway to healing.
Trauma informed yoga classes help survivors of complex trauma and post-traumatic stress to gently reconnect with their bodies in a safer environment, giving people the opportunity to:
-
practise being present
-
practise making choices
-
experience taking effective action
-
sense their environment
-
connect with the body through breath
